Night rounds, no appointments
He brought one syringe. Nobody asked what was inside.
After Sundown
Every dusk, Plague Cat crosses the frozen square before the sirens agree on a story. He keeps no office. His clinic appears wherever a lamp still burns: beneath a clock tower, behind a pharmacy shutter, or inside the last warm carriage. The syringe glows green. The diagnosis is usually brief. Payment may be left in dried fish, clean bandages, or information about the next cough.
